Theresa Drake

Theresa Drake, 92, of Mayville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
Theresa was born the daughter of John and Margaret (Kahlhamer) Schabel on May 24, 1930, in Lastrup, MN.
She was a graduate of Mayville High School.
Theresa was united in marriage to Lloyd (Jim) Drake on October 3, 1949, in Appleton, MN. Together they raised their four children in Mayville.
Theresa was a dedicated and hardworking nurse’s aide at Clearview in Juneau for 25 years.
She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, watching birds, and tending to her geraniums. Theresa cherished the time she spent playing bingo assisting in church activities with her dear friend, Joanne. Theresa was humbled and honored to receive the Cornerstone Award for service to her parish at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville, where she was a faithful member. Theresa treasured the time she spent with her family. She and Jim’s house was always the place everyone gathered for get togethers.
Theresa is survived by her loving children, Pam (Dennis) Gourlie, Greg (Madonna) Drake, Tim Drake (Kim), Dixie (Jim) Priessnitz; her grandchildren, Aimee (Ray) Beu, Brock (Cris Siqueira) Gourlie, Sarah (Hector) Drake-Ricart, Saul (Katie) Sopoci Drake, Monica (Joe) Drake-Pierce, Teresa Drake (John), Weston Priessnitz; great-grandchildren, Camden, Hailey, Diego, Lauren, Monica, Rhiannon, Brylee, Chasity, and Landon; great-great-grandchild, Luna; brothers, Hank (Diane) Schabel, Jim (Mary) Schabel; sisters-in-law, Janice Schabel, Sharon Pollasch; brother-in-law, Marvin Lee. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Jim; granddaughter, Chelsey Drake; brother, Robert Schabel; sister, Marjorie Lee; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Leona) Drake, Lyle Drake, and Donna (Jim) Powers.
Mass of Christian Burial for Theresa will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m. with Fr. Tom Biersak presiding. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at church. Entombment at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.
