Karen Ruth Grahl Karen Ruth Grahl

Karen Ruth Grahl, of Eden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the age of 75, at Serenity Villa in Campbellsport. She was born on December 6, 1947, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Samuel and Clara Reichert Marten. On October 18, 1975, she married Daniel A. Grahl of Eden. They lived in Eden for the next 45 years. They have three children and nine grandchildren.

Karen loved being a wife and mother. She was the support behind her husband who was very active in community, church, and business activities. She especially loved being a mother, and excelled in finding the best in each one of her children and loving them each in a special way. She formed a special bond with her mother-in-law, Margaret (Oma). While Margaret was with us, Karen and Margaret spent almost every day having tea together in the early afternoon under the big pine trees.

Karen was a caregiver at heart, always looking to help any person that she came across that had any type of need. She was active in her local Assembly of God church, teaching children in Sunday School and many other activities including women’s ministries, where she served for a time as president. She had a gift for making the Bible teachings come to life and practical to our everyday lives. She lived what she believed, and it showed in her kind and gentle way of handling everything she did. A real highlight in Karen’s life was her grandchildren. She loved them as she loved her own children by cherishing each, learning about their passions, and making each one feel special. Karen was never concerned with herself; it was always about loving others which shows her special relationship with the Lord.

She is survived by her loving children: David (Tara) Grahl and their children, Austin, Remick and Savannah; Carolyn (Godfrey) Onwunili and their children, Joshua and Hannah; and Mark (Laura) Grahl and their children, Wesley, Levi, Claire and Reagan. Her brother Ken (JoAnn) Marten; niece, Heather (Ben) Daka, and nephew, Jonathan (Jessica) Marten and children. Cousins: Judy Pauley, Gary (Nancy) Pauley and children; Joanie (Marty) Warren and children.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Grahl; and her parents, Samuel and Clara Marten.

Visitation: The family greeted friends from 5-7 p.m., on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Celebration Assembly Church, 825 Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du Lac.
