Raymond L. Eggers

Raymond L. Eggers, 95, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Harbor Haven. He was born on February 16, 1928, in Dundee, a son of the late George and Adeline Eggers (nee Reese). Ray proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. After he was honorably discharged, Ray became an Accountant and worked at many places, including Milwaukee Bookkeeping, the State of Wisconsin as an Auditor, and Precision Accounting and Tax Service. He enjoyed drinking a Martini, attending parties, and spending time with his family. Ray was knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly generous. He summed up his life perfectly with his last words, “It’s been a sweet ride.”

Those left behind to cherish his memory are many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephew; his brother-in-law, Randall Drew, and his sister-in-law, Joan Eggers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Drew; his brother, Jack Eggers; and his brothers-in-law, Elroy Backhaus and Reynold Drew.

Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will take place at St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Campbellsport.

Memorials are appreciated to the Fond du Lac Humane Society.
