Corrine Mlodzik

Corrine Mlodzik, age 91, passed away peacefully and comfortably due to congestive heart failure on Saturday, August 26, 2023. During the three weeks period from hospitalization to hospice care, Corrine continually asked one question, “When can I go home?” Corrine is home now.
Corrine was born December 2, 1931, the only child to Adolph and Marie Wahlen in Kewaskum. Corrine married Donald Mlodzik of Montello, at St. Kilian Church near Kewaskum, on June 6, 1953. Corrine and Don owned and operated the Hilltop Laundry in Kewaskum from 1968 to 1983. Due to Corrine’s meticulous care and daily attention, the business quickly thrived and earned a well-deserved reputation for being impeccably clean and well maintained. Corrine was a stay at home mom and was also active in the local Homemakers club.
In 1995, Corrine and Don moved to Sun City, AZ to be closer to Kayla and Kody, their only grandchildren. Avoiding the harsh Wisconsin winters was certainly a blessing as well. They moved to Peoria, AZ in 2020.
Corrine was a faithful member of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church and a proud member of its Ladies Guild. Corrine enjoyed many hours of crafting and was a long time member of Bell Craft Club and Sundial Crafts in Sun City.
Corrine was preceded in death by her parents and also her husband of 67 years, Donald Mlodzik.
Corrine is survived by her sons, Jim (Terry) of West Bend and Gary (Tina) of Peoria, AZ; and granddaughters, Kayla Mlodzik of Arvada, CO and Kody Mlodzik of Glendale, AZ.
It wasn’t until the last few years of her life that Corrine expressed how much she enjoyed visits with dogs belonging to her neighbors and friends, especially her great-grand pups. She reminisced fondly of her fluffy white farm dog from her childhood, but that was the only dog she ever owned. It was only fitting that her neighbor’s dog sensed a need to turn the “wrong way” down the hall, away from a daily routine, to find Corrine at the entry to her apartment in need of medical assistance. In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations can be made to Southern Pup Dog Rescue via US mail to: PO Box 71, Macon, MS 39341.
Private notes of condolence can be sent to the family in care of PO Box 1443, Sun City, AZ 85372-1443.
Her memorial gathering and committal will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Sunland Memorial Park Cemetery, 15826 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can also be shared digitally at www.sunlandmemorial.com for the Mlodzik family.
