Michael Sawyer

Michael Sawyer, 72, died Fri­day, Oct. 13, 2023, at his home in Bur­nett.
Michael Paul Sawyer was born on No­vem­ber 29, 1950, in Hus­tis­ford, to the late Paul and Ilona (Pieper) Sawyer.
He grad­u­ated from Hori­con High School in 1969 and began work­ing. Mick was a meat cut­ter through­out his life, work­ing at sev­eral area Pig­gly Wig­gly’s and also at LeRoy Meats.
On March 6, 1993, he was united in mar­riage with Louise Van Buren in Bur­nett. To­gether they en­joyed road trips through the years to places out west and to Florida. Mick loved spend­ing time with his grand­chil­dren and ab­solutely en­joyed the com­pan­ion­ship of his dogs.
Sur­vivors in­clude his wife, Louise of Juneau; two chil­dren, Chris (Teresa) Sawyer of Hori­con and Melissa (Troy) Boettcher of Colum­bus; five grand­chil­dren, Alexan­der Sawyer (Jen­nifer Schmidt), Zach­ery Sawyer, Han­nah Boettcher (Austin Keach), Megan Boettcher, and Mikenna Boettcher; two broth­ers, Daniel (Sandy) Sawyer of Menomonee Falls and Dean Sawyer of Bur­nett; nieces, nephews, other rel­a­tives and friends.
Mick was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents.
There will be a memo­r­ial gath­er­ing at Koepsell-Mur­ray Fu­neral Home in Hori­con on Mon­day, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon. The memo­r­ial ser­vice will fol­low at the fu­neral home at noon. In­urn­ment will be at Bur­nett Cen­tral Ceme­tery.
