Carolyn Mathews
Carolyn Mathews, 73, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023, at Crossroads Care Center in Mayville.
Carolyn was born the daughter of Harold and Bernice (Toellner) Finke on November 30, 1949, in Hustisford. She graduated from Mayville High School in 1968. Carolyn was united in marriage to Robert Mathews at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville on June 18, 1977.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville and former member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school.
Carolyn was employed for many years at TAB. She also was a bartender and did the trapshooting stats for Field & Stream sportsman’s club for 23 years. Carolyn was a member of the Mayville American Legion Auxiliary.
Carolyn was a people person who enjoyed being in the company of others. Carolyn treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to spoil them and watch them grow. Carolyn learned to live life to the fullest after having polio at age 5. She had many hobbies and some of which included: reading books, crocheting, and watching Hallmark Movies on the Hallmark Channel. Carolyn could also be found watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers, or NASCAR races.
Carolyn will always be remembered by her daughter, Mindy (Tony) Bonneau; grandchildren, Kayla, Erin, and Austin. She is further survived by other relatives and many dear friends.
Those loved ones with the Lord and Carolyn include her parents; her husband, Robert; brother, Ronald; and nephew, John.
Funeral services for Carolyn were held on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville with Rev. James Mallmann officiating. A visitation for Carolyn was held at the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Interment followed the service at Kekoskee Cemetery.
