Norma G. Gerth

Norma G. Gerth, 91, of Horicon, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at Marvin’s Manor in Horicon.
Norma was born to Erhard and Gertrude (Koepsell) Zimmerman on July 9, 1932, in Mayville. Norma attended school in Mayville.
She was united in marriage to Horst Gerth on July 14, 1951, at the River Church in Theresa.
Norma was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Browns Corner.
Together with her husband, Norma farmed all her life. She loved gardening and raising her nine children. Norma’s family was very dear to her, and she always looked forward to their visits. She was a great storyteller and will always be remembered for her elaborate stories.
Norma is survived by her children, Carl (Gail) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Dennis (April) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Roland Gerth of Horicon, Chris (David) Schumacher of Fox Lake, Ernie (Phyllis ) Gerth of Horicon, Wayne (Sherry) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Faith (Bill) Stroede of Mayville, and Monica (Dave) Roskopf of Iron Ridge; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Norbert (Carla) Zimmerman of Mayville and Carolyn (Ron) Krentz of Hartford. Norma is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Horst, in 2016; daughter, Linda, in 2020; and sisters, Lorraine and LaVerne.
Funeral services for Norma will take place on Friday, Oct. 27, at 12 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Browns Corner with Rev. Allen Behnke officiating. A visitation for Norma will take place at church on Friday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Interment will follow the service at St. John’s Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Marvin’s Manor for the wonderful care they provided to Norma in the two years she lived there.
