Joyce Schwartz
Joyce Schwartz, 76, of Lomira passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023, at her home in Lomira.
Joyce was born April 2, 1947, in Beaver Dam to Carl Sr. and Ruth (nee Hartwig) Reible. Joyce would regularly help on the farm, although she was not fond of chickens or any other animals with feathers.
She graduated from Mayville High School in 1965. She then went on to be a homemaker for a few years before becoming an assembler for Maysteel.
She was united in marriage to Donald Lee Schwartz on November 1, 1969, at St. Luke’s in Knowles.
Family was paramount to Joyce, and it is well known that she was the best hugger out there. She was very strong in her faith, attending church regularly. It brought her joy to share a confirmation verse with her grandson, Cole, Revelations 2:10. “Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.”
When she was able, she would attend all her grandchildren’s sporting events, concerts, and plays. In her free time, she enjoyed spending her time helping at Hope Health Nursing Home in Lomira. She particularly loved spending time with the patients that didn’t have many visitors. Joyce loved her siblings and her cousin, Carol, and she would talk with them almost daily. Joyce was also an avid baker with sweets being her specialty.
Those Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory include Don, her loving husband of 54 years; her sons, Daniel (Kristina) Schwartz, Craig (Jessi) Schwartz; her daughter, Becky (Andy) Coates; seven grandchildren, Cole (Megan) Schwartz, Megan (Dylan) Bonlender, Kurtis, Donovan, and Gannan Schwartz, and Anna and Brennan Coates; three great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Kylah, and Hudson; a brother, Carl Jr. (Mary) Reible; a sister, Bonnie (Andy) Schraufnagel; her special cousin, Carol Schraufnagel; sisters-in-law, Carol Kremer, Carolyn Lerch, Elaine (Paul) Schwefel, Patti Schwartz; a brother-in-law, Larry Kind; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Leslie (Elanora) Schwartz; a brother, Dennis (Nancy) Reible; a sister-in-law, Helen Kind; brothers-in-law, Gary Schwartz, Keith Lerch, and Ken Kremer; a nephew, Opy Schwefel.
