Gary Binder
(January 2, 1957 –
April 18, 2024)
Gary “Happy” Binder, 67, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at UW Hospital in Madison.
Gary was born January 2, 1957, in Hustisford, the son of Harlan and Sueann (Puttkamer) Binder.
His nickname “Happy” was given at birth. Born the day after New Year’s Day, he always showed such a happy soul. He had a very good work ethic; most nights spent in the garage or creating in his mind. As a young man, Happy worked on farms, drove semi and later worked construction. He loved creating furniture and birdhouses from old barn boards. Because he loved building and doing remodels so much, he started his own contracting business in 1998. He had a huge heart for animals. Happy loved to get together with his many friends and family; he was the life of the party and always had a smile to share and a story to tell. And Oh, did he love to talk!
Happy is survived by his wife, Dianne; mother, Sueann; siblings, Gene, Tim and Harlan; his children, Amy, Lisa, Cody, Michelle, Jason, Scotty; grandchildren, Drew, Caitlin, Ashley, Dylan, Hailey, Kylie, Juliana, Nikki, Liam, McKenna, Nova; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Carter; special daughters, Carrie Persinger and Rachel Davidson; sister-in-law, Sherry Miller; brother-in-law, Bobby Williams, along with many nieces and nephews he adored, and his beloved dogs, Charlie and Jessie.
He was preceded by his father, Harlan; siblings, Kenny, Robert, Ellen, Carol, Sharon, Sheila, Richard, Wayne and Jerry.
A celebration of life memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal shelter in his name as he had a big heart for animals.
