Gloria Valle

Glo­ria Valle, 89, of Brownsville, passed away peace­fully at Theda Clark Med­ical Cen­ter in Neenah on Sat­ur­day, Nov. 6, 2021.
Glo­ria was born Yvonne Glo­ria Kropp in Fond du Lac on July 22, 1932, to Duward and Izetta (Garb) Kropp, and was raised in Wa­ter­town.
She mar­ried the love of her life, Al­bert Valle, on April 23, 1949, and they cel­e­brated their 70th wed­ding an­niver­sary in April 2019. Since her mar­riage she has lived the rest of her life in Nas­bro, where she was now the last sole res­i­dent.
Glo­ria was a home­maker but also, when her chil­dren were young, ran the local gro­cery store for the res­i­dents and work­ers in Nas­bro. After the store closed, she worked sev­eral years at the can­ning fac­tory in Brownsville until she was hired as a cook at Hope Nurs­ing Home in Lomira. She be­came head cook and worked there for al­most 25 years until she re­tired.
Glo­ria was a very hard work­ing, but feisty, fun-lov­ing lady, who was not afraid to try or do any­thing, and was ad­mired by all who knew her. She was an ex­cel­lent cook, and her fam­ily es­pe­cially en­joyed all the Ital­ian dishes her mother-in-law taught her to make. She was very styl­ish and loved to dress up and had her hair and nails done reg­u­larly. She was gifted with the abil­ity to cro­chet, knit and em­broi­der, and made nu­mer­ous afghans, baby afghans, and em­broi­dered tow­els and pil­low-cases which she gifted to her chil­dren and grand­chil­dren through the years. Glo­ria suf­fered with many health is­sues, hav­ing en­dured over 25 dif­fer­ent pro­ce­dures and surg­eries but al­ways kept a pos­i­tive at­ti­tude and never com­plained. She en­joyed going out to eat with the good friends she made from her for­mer TOPS club, and she loved her cats, watch­ing the birds on the win­dow feed­ers, and watch­ing Dr. Pol. She was also an avid Pack­ers and Brew­ers fan and en­joyed watch­ing them play, shout­ing at the TV when they did poorly.
Glo­ria is sur­vived by her five chil­dren, Daniel (Mar­cia) of Brownsville, Mary (Roger) Won­dra of Lomira, James (Joanne) of Moun­tain, Robert (Jo­lene) of Brownsville, and DuWard (Rachelle) of Pick­ford, MI. She is also sur­vived by 14 grand­chil­dren, 35 great-grand­chil­dren, and one great-great-grand­child; fur­ther sur­vived by two sis­ters, Mar­ion King and Betty Keeser, both of Wa­ter­town, and many nieces and nephews.
Pre­ced­ing Glo­ria in death was her hus­band Al­bert in De­cem­ber 2019; her par­ents; her fa­ther and mother-in-law, John and Stella Valle; brother and sis­ter-in-law, Bruno and Shirley Valle; sis­ters, Vir­ginia Pow­ers and Kath­leen Ready; broth­ers, Don­ald Zillmer and Ken­neth Zillmer; broth­ers-in-law, Ed­ward King, Jerry Keeser, Thomas Ready, and James Pow­ers, and other fam­ily mem­bers and friends.
Vis­i­ta­tion for Glo­ria will be held on Thurs­day, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at St. An­drew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy.
A Mass of Chris­t­ian Bur­ial will fol­low with the Rev. Thomas Bier­sack pre­sid­ing. Bur­ial will take place at St. An­drew’s Catholic Ceme­tery in Leroy.
In lieu of flow­ers, memo­ri­als may be di­rected to St. An­drew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy.
