Kathy Mueller
Kathy Mueller, 89, passed away on November 17, 2024, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Mayville.
She was born on October 15, 1935, in Calma, Yugoslavia, to Nikolas and Theresa (Schoblocher) Russ.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Kathy took place on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 12 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa with Rev. Fr. Mark Brandl presiding. Visitation for Kathy was held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Interment followed the service at St. Theresa Cemetery in Theresa.
In 1952 she came to America, where she met her husband, Jakob. It was a double ring ceremony with her brother, Nick, and Jakob’s sister Rosi. Together with her husband, Kathy farmed in the Town of Herman and raised their three daughters.
She was a faithful member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa.
Kathy was incredibly proud of her family and loved them dearly. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and attending any sport events her granddaughters were in. Many cherished memories were made on vacations with her family in St. Germain.
Kathy is survived by twin daughters, Hertha Lackas, and Heidi Fiedler (Dennis), and Mary Cundy (fiancé Dan Strassman); six granddaughters, Jamie Schellinger (Ben), Ashley Lackas, Dawn Karel (Tony), Kristie Beleyeu (Ryan), Melinda Serwe (Ryan), and Jennifer Parks (Rob); and eleven great-grandchildren, Ava, Gabriella, Kennedy, Brooklynn, Alexis, Lydia, Owen, Blake, Ronni, Knox, and Kanon; sister, Helen Schimpf; and sister-in-law, Rosie Russ. Kathy is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jakob; her parents, Nikolas and Theresa Russ; her brother, Nick Russ, her brother-in-law, Nick Schimpf, and sons-in-law, Joe Lackas and Bruce Cundy.
