Kathy Mueller

Kathy Mueller, 89, passed away on No­vem­ber 17, 2024, at Prairie Ridge As­sisted Liv­ing in Mayville.
She was born on Oc­to­ber 15, 1935, in Calma, Yu­goslavia, to Niko­las and Theresa (Schoblocher) Russ.
A Mass of Chris­t­ian Bur­ial for Kathy took place on Wednes­day, Nov. 20, at 12 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa with Rev. Fr. Mark Brandl pre­sid­ing. Vis­i­ta­tion for Kathy was held on Wednes­day, Nov. 20, at church from 10 a.m. until the time of ser­vice at 12 p.m. In­ter­ment fol­lowed the ser­vice at St. Theresa Ceme­tery in Theresa.
In 1952 she came to Amer­ica, where she met her hus­band, Jakob. It was a dou­ble ring cer­e­mony with her brother, Nick, and Jakob’s sis­ter Rosi. To­gether with her hus­band, Kathy farmed in the Town of Her­man and raised their three daugh­ters.
She was a faith­ful mem­ber of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa.
Kathy was in­cred­i­bly proud of her fam­ily and loved them dearly. She en­joyed sewing, gar­den­ing, and at­tend­ing any sport events her grand­daugh­ters were in. Many cher­ished mem­o­ries were made on va­ca­tions with her fam­ily in St. Ger­main.
Kathy is sur­vived by twin daugh­ters, Hertha Lackas, and Heidi Fiedler (Den­nis), and Mary Cundy (fiancé Dan Strass­man); six grand­daugh­ters, Jamie Schellinger (Ben), Ash­ley Lackas, Dawn Karel (Tony), Kristie Beleyeu (Ryan), Melinda Serwe (Ryan), and Jen­nifer Parks (Rob); and eleven great-grand­chil­dren, Ava, Gabriella, Kennedy, Brook­lynn, Alexis, Lydia, Owen, Blake, Ronni, Knox, and Kanon; sis­ter, Helen Schimpf; and sis­ter-in-law, Rosie Russ. Kathy is fur­ther sur­vived by nieces, nephews, other rel­a­tives, and friends.
Kathy was pre­ceded in death by her lov­ing hus­band, Jakob; her par­ents, Niko­las and Theresa Russ; her brother, Nick Russ, her brother-in-law, Nick Schimpf, and sons-in-law, Joe Lackas and Bruce Cundy.
