Michael T. Roemer, 75 of Hartford passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
Mike was born on March 19, 1944 in Hartford to Margaret L. (Lohr) and Donald C. Roemer.
He graduated from Hartford High School. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Mayville American Legion-Post #69 for 50 years.
Mike was united in marriage to Janice L. Machmueller on November 27, 1969 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mayville. Mike worked for RuMar Manufacturing as head of maintenance in Mayville for over 35 years.
Mike enjoyed woodworking, counted cross stitching, and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice Roemer; dear son, Richard C. (Julie) Roemer of Horicon; cherished grandchildren, Cody Michael Roemer of Horicon and Marcia (Todd) Schabel of Appleton. He is further survived by his uncle, Tom (Pat) Lohr of Beaver Dam; sister-in-law, Nancy Machmueller of Theresa; grand-pets, Skippy and Maggie among other loved relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Margaret Roemer; parents-in-law, Arnold and Elfrieda Machmueller; and aunts, Florence Bischoff and Mary Thomas Roemer.
Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 4 p.m. to 6:15 p.m
Funeral services for Mike will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor Doug Livingston officiating.
Interment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford on Friday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. with military honors.
